FAQ

What other ingredients are in the products?

The Broccoli Sprout Powder is simply carefully dried Broccoli Sprouts. The Blackcurrant Skin Extract has a small amount of Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) added, which some research has show aids the absorption of the anthocyanins. This added Ascorbic acid delivers 200mg of Vitamin C in each capsule.

Are the products available in any stores?

Yes a few. Please see our Stockists page for our retailers locations. Contact us for a wholesale price list if you are considering stocking our products.

Do you ship overseas?

Most definitely! We ship our products in strong cardboard boxes or padded bubble bags and to date have not received any reports of the products arriving damaged. Additionally our products have surgical wool packed at the top of the pots, to prevent the capsules moving and breaking open in transit. Each pot also contains a small desiccator pouch to ensure the products stay moisture free.

How often and how many capsules do I need to take?

Once a day, two capsules per day. However, we suggest that you may want to start with only one Broccoli Sprout capsule per day for your first week, as for some people its detoxifying effect can make you a little more regular than normal to begin with. It didn’t happen to me, but a few others have reported this.

What time of day should I take the products?

We suggest you take them with a large glass of water in the morning and avoid caffeine for half an hour afterwards. However you can take them whenever you like, we just find you’re more likely to remember to take them every day if you make it the first thing you do in your morning routine. Some research has shown that the Blackcurrant Skin Extract is most effective on muscle recovery if you take one before and then one after exercise.

Are your products vegan and gluten free?

Yes they are.

How long do I have to take your products for before I notice a difference?

It’s different for everyone. The benefits start as soon as you start taking them but the obvious effects may take a while to build up. For me it was six weeks of taking the Blackcurrant Skin Extract before I noticed a positive difference to my eyesight. It’s often when you stop taking the supplements that you notice the positive difference they were making! You really need to take the products for three months before you can be sure of noticing the positive effects.

Do you offer a subscription service and discount?

We certainly do. If you sign up to receive our product regularly you will receive a 5% discount.

Can I take one tablet in the morning and one at night instead of both in the morning?

Yes sure. Just take a glass of water each time. The water makes sure the capsules release their contents and it also helps to activate the myrosinase enzyme in the Broccoli Sprout Powder.

What temperature do you dry your Broccoli Sprouts at?

The enzyme myrosinase is destroyed above a certain temperature but it’s almost impossible to measure the core temperature of a broccoli sprout, so we keep the temperature as low as possible and then test our product to make sure that the enzyme is still present and active, which it is.

Is the Blackcurrant Skin Extract helpful to people with Parkinson’s Disease?

Recent research points towards the positive impact that blackcurrant products can have on reducing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Our capsules contain concentrated and then freeze-dried blackcurrant skin extract. Recent studies have identified a substance called cGP in some New Zealand Blackcurrant varieties. It is extremely uncommon to find this substance in food. Sufferers of many neurological diseases have low levels of cGP. I have seen firsthand the positive impact they can have on reducing the tremors of those with Parkinson’s, especially in its early stages.

Do you grow the products yourselves?

We do produce Olive products that we sell locally but we let the local New Zealand experts grow the Blackcurrants and Broccoli Sprouts for us. Our growers and processors export their raw products globally.

I have heard that a large intake of Brassicas can have a negative impact on your thyroid, is that the case with your Broccoli Sprout Powder?

There has been one case report of an 88-year-old woman developing severe hypothyroidism following consumption of an estimated 1.0 to 1.5 kg/day (2.2 to 3.7 pounds) of raw Bok Choy for several months. So the instances are extremely rare and the amounts consumed were huge. To be on the safe side, if you have a thyroid disorder you should consult your doctor before taking the Broccoli Sprout Powder.
